Famine Relief

Another important protection during lean years is a generous policy of assessment dues. Gondal is not seeking to extract as much as possible out of the Khedut by introducing Bhagbatai during fat years and cash-assessment during lean ones as it best suits its purpose. It has followed a totally different course. It has always remitted the assessment dues partially or completely as the occasion arose.

Minority administration spent Rs. 86,000 on Famine Relief before 1884 against Rs. 57,50,000 spent by His Highness before 1932.
