Medical Relief
Medical
institutions and medical relief have been considerably expanded and
the annual expenditure has more than doubled while the total building
and equipment cost has been about 6 lakhs.
The
buildings in which these hospitals and dispensaries are housed, are
constructed well both from the point of view of architecture and comfort and are set in airy sites.
All are fully equipped with staff quarters and other necessary
buildings.
The
increase in the population is remarkable, having risen from 1,35,604
in 1881 to 2,05,846 in 1931 an increase of about 52 per cent. The
chief contribution to this increase comes from the municipal towns
that are developing their industrial and commercial activities.
