Railway

       Before 1814, Gondal owned only 73 miles of railways with a capital outlay of about 27 lakhs of rupees. This was worked through other agency. While to-day it owns about 106 miles with a capital of rs1,04,20,602.

       Railways are one of the chief assets of Gondal which owns 106-24 miles from Dhasa to Jamjodhpur , and has a 6 anna share in 46.21 miles of the J.R. Railway and work 37.22 miles of the Baroda State Railway from Khijadiya to Dhari

       The major capital works carried out by the Railway administration were remodeling work of the yard for the convenience of the goods and passenger traffic, additions to the station  buildings and improvement of water and food arrangement for the comfort of the third class passengers and increasd and improved rolling stock to cope with the increased traffic and the higher standard of accommodation.
